Vintage bowling party

Posted

We loved styling this vintage bowling party for a client who was turning 40.  She wanted an unfussy event with a comfortable atmosphere that friends and family could enjoy. We ended up with a vintage twist on a fun and casual concept: bowling night.

Soft pastels accented with green stripes formed the color palette for the event.  The visual focal point of this sweet soiree was the dessert buffet complete with vintage milk glass dessert stands, candy bowls, and cake plates.  Chocolate truffles, Laduree macaroons, bowling-inspired fondant-topped cupcakes, mini Mille-feuille, creamy profiteroles, chocolate brownies, and fresh fruit awaited guests at the alley.

Vintage bowling trophies, retro bowling bags, and wooden bowling pins sourced from dealers in the United States gave this event an authentic feel.  Mason jars filled with loosely tied flowers in whites, yellows and blues accented the venue and soft candles were used on each table to give a warm glow.

Sweet and savory were paired with a personalized cocktail menu of pink Cosmopolitans', a zesty Lemon Kiss, and a Dirty Martini, of course! A vintage metal sign imprinted with "BOWL Open 24 Hours: Lanes Available" road-signed the bar nicely.

No bowling party would be complete without retro bowling shirts customized for each guest in pale pinks, greens, yellows, and blues.

Trophies all around!
